We have always strived to be as transparent as possible. Sneakersnstuff (SNS) as an organization is far from perfect and has flaws. We pledge to work for change.

SNS Cares

At Sneakersnstuff, we believe in following your heart and giving back. Through SNS Cares we are able to give back and do better. Better for the community and better for the world. Our community can mean any of the countries we operate in, it can mean our 10 closest friends. It can be donations of shoes, app-donation projects, product collaborations and much more. A few of the partners we are proud to have collaborated with are Whenweallvote, Unicef, Care 4 Calais, Skatenation, the Black Trans Femmes in The Arts Collective, It's From The Sole, Aya Brown as well as ongoing global initiatives to work more sustainable.

Sneakersnstuff's ambition to be a strong player when it comes to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is closely aligned with SNS Cares, and we believe that we will continue to grow both initiatives in parallel.

Project Åsö

One of the Cares projects we are extra proud of was when the Åsö Basketball Court plan was reopened with new life as a result of a collaboration between the City of Stockholm, SISAB and Sneakersnstuff. The idea was to make Åsö court regain its old glory. In the early 90s, it used to be a place where kids met like-minded kids from all over Stockholm to ball, talk sneakers, and share music, but over the years, it started to deteriorate. By giving the court the love it needed we hope to inspire a whole new generation and provide them with a place where the community can grow and thrive.

Sneaker industry vs equality

We operate within sneakers and streetwear, and historically these have been heavily male-dominated businesses.

We are fully committed to being part of a change why it is essential to us to open up the scene for an increased number of women, as well as transgender community members, both internally and in our communities.

Sneakersnstuff has always strived to uplift and empower the next generation. Over the years, we have enabled and supported many people to pursue their dreams and careers. We think that we can be part of changing the unbalanced equality within the industry by reaching diverse candidates when looking for talent as well as investing in talent already working for us.

Some of the global Sneakersnstuff goals, as we continue to strive for a diverse and inclusive team, are:

  • Have a gender balance split with at least 40% women globally.
  • Have a gender balance split where women hold at least 40% of the management positions.

We have set the deadline to reach these goals by 2025.

We are proud to see that we have made progress from 24% in September 2021 to 41% of female managers globally at Sneakersnstuff in April 2023. We still have work to do across the entire organization.

Today Sneakersnstuff has a global gender split of 37% women and 63% men overall (April 2023).

Another (small yet important step) is that Sneakersnstuff provides Intimate Hygiene Products for our employees who require them. By providing hygiene products at all our work locations, we want to signal that this is a place for all genders and create a workplace that naturally makes everyone feel included and an obvious part of the team. Yes, we know, that providing hygiene products is not a full solution to increased diversity and a better gender balance in our teams, however, we strongly believe that all steps, small as big, in the right direction are important to make change.

Silence is not an option

Sneakersnstuff is a global brand. We express ourselves through Restaurants, Bars, Apparel Collections, Events, Music, Storytelling, Sneakers, SNS Radio, Cultural activations and more. Our starting point, original inspiration and passion derives from parts of African American culture. This culture, as well as many other cultures, inspire us and without them we would be nothing.

We have a social responsibility to use our platform to highlight injustice. It is not enough for Sneakersnstuff to be non-racist. It is important that we take an anti-racist position. But we do not want Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to become a campaign. We want all our team members, on all levels, to get a D, E&I perspective on everything we do, and that this is something happening naturally without being enforced.

The more we learn and experience while working actively with the field of D,E&I the better we understand how complex and delicate these topics are. We have made mistakes in the past, and we will continue to make mistakes, but we continue to learn and develop.

No matter what, diversity should always be a key component to enable Sneakersnstuff's continued success, there are no doubts about that.

Diversity is not just a box for us to tick. Our work will continue. This is not a sprint, it is a marathon.
