SNS Presents: Nike Air Max BW

When the Air Max BW by Nike landed in 1991, it threw everyone’s expectations out the window. Celebrating the iconic silhouette's 30th anniversary and the long-awaited re-release of its distinct, OG ‘Persian Violet’ colorway - we want to shine a new light on the Air Max BW’s cultural impact. Getting picked up by passionate creators of culture and embraced in (sub)cultures like Rotterdam’s Gabber/House scene, London's Grime scene and Lyons’ Hip-hop community, gave it legendary status. It’s bonkers, it’s bizarre, it’s brilliant. The Air Max BW was designed to wow - making it easy to grasp its popularity among the scientists of subcultures.

Three decades later, it once again takes a step out the big window. This time around, into the ballroom culture as we linked up with photographer and director Jason Rodgers for the BW to clash its brilliance with voguing legend Jason A. Rodriguez, a.k.a. Slim 007 in the New York ballroom scene. If you are not expressing your most confident self, you are not voguing. With Jason’s confidence and passion powerful enough to tear down walls, Slim 007 has the ability to kick everyone's expectations off the stage.
