Nike Space Hippie

It's pretty simple, Nike just changed the game of sustainable footwear with the release of the Space Hippie sneaker series that has the lowest carbon footprint yet. Utilizing recycled materials to design a sneaker by diverting factory scrap from landfills and waterways, spinning yarn from a heap of recycled materials, and using Nike Grind rubber to turn manufacturing waste into new shoes, Nike is on to something, and we are here for it.

Space Hippie is a story of trash transformed. The all-new and first release at SNS, the Space Hippie 04 is a progressing experiment and not only it is the most lightweight silhouette within the collection; it also has the lowest carbon footprint. Its ‘Space Waste Yarn’ upper includes about 75% recycled content by weight–made from recycled plastic bottles, t-shirts and yarn scraps. A soft, Crater Foam midsole combines Nike grind with a blend of foams for stability and a unique aesthetic, while the shoe's insole is made from ZoomX foam scraps, the same cushioning that creates the ultimate ride in Nike's NEXT% running shoes
