Bringing back the joy in running

To give the On Cloudmonster a test ride through Paris, we asked our good friend Rad Cartier for a fast-paced inner-city run, listening to music, forgetting the time, just vibing, just joy.

SNS : How do you feel about the On Cloudmonster Exclusive? How would you describe the pair?

Rad : Honestly I feel comfortable! I don't wear a lot of running shoes but I like these ones because they are really comfortable. What I like best about this model is the sole, I feel like I'm walking on a cloud, haha!

SNS : We know you for your avant-garde style, what would be the best outfit with this pair?

Rad : The best outfit with this pair for me is a wide-legged trouser, it breaks the thing up and has its charm.

SNS : You were a footballer before you started making sounds, do you still play?

Rad : I love football as much as I love music, it's really my two favourite passions! I still play but not necessarily in a club, it's more cool with friends, we meet 3 times a week to practice, all passionate about football, it's always a pleasure.

SNS : Does sports inspire you in your music and help you create? And conversely, has music helped you in your sports performances?

Rad : Having been educated mainly in these two disciplines, I would say that music helped me a lot before the games. It allowed me to concentrate on getting into a match, it gives you an inexplicable feeling that puts you in a very comforting concentration bubble.

SNS : Is music a sport to you?

Rad : Music could be seen as a sport in my opinion, in the sense that it covers several similar skills: determination, perseverance, research, discipline. Cardio too, because you need it for stage performances, haha.

SNS : Do you consider On Cloudmonster a concert pair, or studio pair?

Rad : The On Cloudmonster is more of a concert pair in my opinion, perfect for long strides or jumping into a crowd!

SNS : When you're on stage, do you experience it as a performance?

Rad : Yes it's definitely a performance, I stretch and warm up before every show to feel good on stage and manage my space as much as possible.

SNS : Which of your sounds would you advise us to listen to when jogging, or playing football?

Rad : When jogging I would advise you to listen to "INTROTHERMIC", a very dynamic track, perfect for pushing your limits! Then, for a football game, there is nothing better than "CARTIER DIMENSION". It's the new Galactic Football!

SNS : You made a custom On Cloudmonster mix to turn up the readers running sessions. What is your secret spice for a good running playlist?

Rad : For a good running playlist, I would only put bangers! Very dirty, very Trap! When you run, it's a physical effort, you progress, you surpass yourself and you push your limits, you have to listen to sounds that give you energy!

SNS : In your video CARTIER DIMENSION, you refer to aliens. Do you think UFOs wear shoes? If so, what kind of shoes do you think they would wear?

Rad : I think aliens wear shoes! In my opinion they must wear shoes made of slimy material or something like that hahaha, I'm going too far!
