Once forgotten amongst the many basketball sneaker choices, the New Balance 550 is one of few hoops silhouettes that was the low-top counterpart to a brand’s fist high-top release. Following hits such as the New Balance 480 and New Balance 650, the 550 mixed basketball DNA, soft cushioning, and a Steven Smith design. Now, NB gives the recently reintroduced streamlines silhouette a minor vintage finish, with leather construction and throwback attitude.
