It’s safe to say that Converse knows a thing or two about creating classics, one of those being the legendary One Star, which has been a staple among skateboarding culture since the early ‘90s. The latest version of this silhouette nods to yet another classic in Converse’s line-up, The Academy.

Combining plush suede uppers, canvas stripes and contrast stitching with the signature One Star logo, the Converse One Star Academy features a classic low-profile design, CX foam cushioning, a thick rubber midsole and waffled gum rubber outsole to provide enhanced board-feel and impact protection, creating the ultimate shoe for those wanting to hit the skatepark or explore the inner city.

To highlight the release of the Converse One Star Academy, we linked up with innovative artist and experienced crate digger, Hadj Sameer, who is well-known for his deep musical intelligence and unique sound, which merges everything from Detroit Techno, Chicago House, Bass, Dubstep, D&B and Jungle to worldwide grooves. Since 2016, Hadj Sameer has been a monthly resident at Rinse, where he hosts a show dedicated to bringing the community together with his extensive vinyl collection of hidden gems and spiritual atmospheres from all walks of life.
