Kacey Lynch of Bricks & Wood

Bricks & Wood is special, and founder Kacey Lynch knows it. The South Central native has made a name for himself and his brand on a steady basis, growing followership that made waves up “Beyoncé’s bio” (that’s a flex). These words speak for themselves “we are more than a brand, we are a platform for the voices unheard,” and Bricks & Wood is heard, knocking on the doors of streetwear heaven. Deeply rooted in its LA narrative with the spirit of a timeless and rare approach, every piece is treated as a gem that will unfold its real power over the years, “Rarewear” is what it’s called. And what better way to check out the man behind it all then by visiting him in his South Central studio rocking his timeless Converse Chuck 70s? Exactly, none.

Enjoy the behind the scenes look by our main man Are Bernard.

*SNS: Where are you from? *

Kacey: From South Central, Los Angeles

When and why did you start Brick and Wood?

I started Bricks & Wood in 2014 here in South Central. The reason behind starting a brand was to give my take on the streetwear/clothing industry from my prior experiences within it. From my dad being a OG in the game, to me interning and working up the ranks, I felt like through those experiences I found a lot of things I loved but a lot of things that were missing internally. Bricks & Wood was created from those missing pieces.

How long have you been into designing things?

I’ve been designing & creating things I’ll say since my senior year of HS. When I hit my senior year is when I started looking towards a “plan B” so fashion & photography because my primary passions after hoop dreams didn’t work out.

How did you hear about Sneakersnstuff?

I’ve heard about SNS through friends of mine whom have worked with or within the company. I remember my first time walking into the NY shop in Meat Packing District & I was very intrigued by the wide selection of brands & even styles you guys carried. It wasn’t traditional to the shoes and styles you see in other stores. Even the clothing selection was great.

What started your sneaker obsession?

I’ll say my dad. Growing up having a nice selection of shoes & then walking into his place and seeing all his shoes be stacked on a wall too to bottom filling up the whole left side of the wall just sparked my interest young. Years later. My closet looks the same haha.

What’s one of your favorite sneaker?

My all-time favorite sneaker is a Converse 1970s. I have this off-white color way that is mixed with two materials. One side suede & the other leather...literally made for me.

Any new collaborations coming up that you’re looking forward to?

Yes, but I truly don’t want to speak on it just yet...just know it’s a sneaker 👀
