SNS Presents: Converse Renew Denim

When it comes to upgrading sustainability, you can’t go deep enough. Ask around, or check out visionaries like Greta Thunberg, people show you the path, and luckily brands follow their calling as leaders in our culture to shape the perception of fashion and sneakers in terms of innovation. Converse’s Renew initiative provides a new approach of a waste minimizing commitment, which starts this fall with selective collections, including the Chuck 70.

With denim, there’s a large supply of the fabric and a unique ability to drive more consistency in color, look and feel. It’s also one of the most common types of clothing to end up in landfills—and Converse wanted to help divert it from ending up there. This Converse Renew Denim line recycles denim fabrics into canvas uppers for the sneakers which establishes an eco-friendly base for products that we all love.

In collaboration with Converse, we linked up with Stockholm-based skateboarder David Stenström to highlight the Converse Renew Denim collection and take a trip through his hometown. The Converse and NOAH signed skater has been on the spearhead of its culture, with an unconventional, old-school-inspired skate style, and is now together with his best friends the faces of our campaign with Converse.
