SNS Stockholm - Top 5 - txt - intro + Stockholm

These days, if you can, most of us stay home. It’s kind of self-explanatory in days like this, and while working from home can quickly turn into cleaning-your-apartment-for-the-third-time, and your couch turned office-space becomes your second home inside your home, we want to offer you a chance to ease your mind. When you are done kicking around your stock of toilet paper have logged out of your last Zoom meeting, send that last e-mail out and made sure your workspace turns to life-space (isn’t that why it is called work-life-balance?) our SNS fam from around the world provides you with their TOP PICKS, you name it, they got it. Have a look below what they list as their favorite ‘90s film.

SNS Stockholm

@sneakersnstuff.sthlm

Our crew from Stockholm picked a true '90s classic, The Big Lebowski by the Coen Brothers. Starring Jeff Bridges as Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski and his sidekick John Goodman, The Big Lebowski follows a crazy storyline with mistaken identities, kidnapped women and legendary bowling sequences, where you actually never see The Dude bowl. Another fun fact before you start watching, keep an eye out for Donnie and his several bowling shirts, it's just too good to be true what you will find out.

Following Eddy, Tom, Soap, and Bacon getting massively into trouble in a series of unexpected events, the four Jack-the-lads come up with the great idea to play a part in a high-roller game with a local gangster which leads to weed, cash, and two antique shotguns, in what sequence, you need to find out yourself.

"As epic as The Godfather," not just The London Times is fascinated by "A Prophet" our Paris staff picked the powerful French movie as their #stayathome flick. Following Malik El Djebena and his six-year sentence at Brécourt prison as well as the time after, the wrenching film takes twists and turns in an environment of corruption and violence. Malik unwillingly partners with the Corsican gang and its leader César Luciani while being locked-up and rising through the criminal ranks to become a formidable player after his sentence is served.

SNS Berlin

@sneakersnstuff.berlin

While expecting more of a Berlin-inspired pick, like Victoria, our SNS team from the German capital picked a West-Coast noir-classic, if you can say so. Straight Outta Compton by F. Gary Gray from 2015 follows the iconic story of NWA and the creation of their debut record "Straight Outta Compton." Revolutionizing Hip Hop culture, NWA recorded the sound for Los Angeles and its racial tumult in the late '80s and early '90s.

SNS New York

@sneakersnstuff.nyc

Sneakersnstuff New York picked a groundbreaking NYC movie, not just for skateboarding and sneaker culture, KIDS by Larry Clark is the definition of influence on a whole generation growing up in the '90s. The one-day portrayal of teens in New York City, skating, drinking, smoking, and deflowering virgins is as dark and controversial as it can get.

SNS Los Angeles

@sneakersnstuff.la

Our SNS Los Angeles crew picked their favorite staying at home movie, and it's not what you might expect from sunny Cali, it's an anime Christmas movie from 2003, Tokyo Godfathers. Telling the story of three homeless people in Tokyo, the trio find a newborn on Christmas Eve and set out to find its birth parents. Beautifully produced and packed with many adventures, Tokyo Godfathers by Satoshi Kon is as attention to detail as it gets, a real work of art.
