True Love NYC
Valentines Day arrives this Thursday 14th February. To celebrate the day of love we focus on a city close to our hearts, NYC. We linked up with New York photographer Chandler Kennedy to capture the cities love birds where they had their first date and asked them what true love means to them.
Dani π Chiki
Lower East Side
Dani - Willing to do anything for that person, having undoubted loyalty and trust. Not just in your partner but in yourself to make the best decisions for the both of your well beings. Appreciation for eachother's presence. Mindfulness of each other's flaws, being ready to compromise for both of you to flourish. Even if you may not see their perspectives during certain moments, being strong enough to see the bigger picture.
Chiki - Real love is unconditional. Real love is undefined, unrefined, a mother's love. If It doesn't emulate such then it isn't so. Much of what love is meant to be is misconstrued. Real love is fresh socks touching inside of new Air Force 1. Real love is being late to work on your day off. Real love is eternal.
Lyla π George
At The Highline
Lyla - Taking the C train deep into BK to buy a knee scooter off craigslist because your boyfriend broke his ankle and you know his crutches hurt him. Real love is when even the most mundane things are exciting when you do it together.
George - To be with the person who makes me feel comfortable with who I am.
Serena π Rob
At Bleeker St.
Serena - When you love someone whole, including their flaws. When you love and appreciate them so much that you can't even process those feelings and it makes your heart all gooey. When you're together nothing else matters and no one can take your connection away. When you feel like they're your other half and they're the one person who knows you better than anyone else in the world.
Rob - When someone is willing to put their significant other over themself.
